Social Early Neutral Evaluation (SENE)
Social Early Neutral Evaluation (SENE)
A Social Early Neutral Evaluation (SENE) is a voluntary and confidential process that is used to help parents gain an accurate perspective about the potential outcome of a lengthy custody evaluation or court trial. Parents and their attorneys meet with a team of two neutral evaluators for a three to four-hour session. Each parent shares information about the family (including issues in dispute and possible solutions for resolution) and then the evaluators provide neutral opinions and recommendations for how best to resolve their disputes. Parents have the opportunity to discuss resolution options with the assistance of their attorneys and the team. Because this is a confidential process, information shared during the meetings cannot be disclosed or used in future court proceedings.
